This is an oldie but a goodie! I love messing with text so now it a good time to go over the Make with Top Object function when using Envelope Distort in Adobe Illustrator.

You can find this in the Object menu under Envelope Distort. I’m going to try to use the keyboard shortcut in my workflow from now on.
This is the result of running “Make with Top Object” on the objects you saw earlier.
There are 2 different “Edit Modes” that you could work with. They are found in the upper left corner.
Means that we can edit the shape that we started off with and the text will update to follow your “new” shape.
Is the mode you want to use when you want to update the text inside the Envelope. Really cool trick for designers working on logos.
