NSL WEEK 245- Adobe Illustrator “Linked Image Trace Workflow”

It’s actually my workflow for applying Image Trace, in Adobe Illustrator, to a Linked Image and using Adobe Photoshop to edit the image…. does that sound as confusing as I think it does?

Command + Shift + P = Place Image

For this workflow, you need to use a Linked image.

When you select you image, you’ll have access to the Image Trace button on the top of your screen.

Here’s an example of the default settings for Image Trace.

Here I’m cropping the original image in Adobe Photoshop.

After saving changes in Photoshop, you get the option to update the Linked image in Illustrator.
