The Scale Strokes and Effects feature can trip you up if you’ve never used it before.

Scale Strokes and Effects turned off

Notice when I scale down my artwork, my strokes stayed the same size. Now my strokes are completely covering up my fills.

This time I have the feature turned on. Notice the strokes scale along with the rest of the artwork.

You can control this feature in the Transform Panel. I usually have this panel open, so it’s easy to access.
