NSL WEEK 233- Adobe Illustrator “Library Linked Assets”

Ok, I think I’m starting to get the hang of this Creative Cloud Libraries thing for the Creative Cloud =D

In the video above, I’ll be working in Adobe Illustrator but you’ll see how to create and edit assets in Adobe Photoshop to be brought into Illustrator. Even better, you’ll see what linked assets are all about.

Linked Assets Creative Cloud

Here I brought in a linked asset from the library. The great thing about using linked assets is you only edit your asset. Then your instances of those assets will update automatically for you.

You can also bring in embedded assets. These will not update when changes are made to the original cloud asset. It is independent of your cloud library.

Adobe Photoshop

Here I’m in Adobe Photoshop making changes to the cloud asset.

The image in the top of the screenshot is a linked asset and was updated automatically. The image at the bottom of the screenshot is an embedded asset and remained untouched.
