This is where all the power is! For each use, I make some changes to the Sample Size and Tolerance.

3×3 Sample Size

If you leave it set to “Point Sample” the Magic Wand Tool will use the information from a single pixel to determine the selection. In the image above, I have it set to 3 by 3 Average and I clicked in the middle pixel. Even though I clicked on the center pixel, it’s actually looking at the average of all 9 pixels in that gold square.
