Take a look though my "Never Stop Learning" weekly posts & more. You'll be able to see me try out techniques that are new to me, keep my chops up on techniques I've learned through the years, and talk about adjustments I'm making to my workflow to become more efficient/proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite, major focus on Photoshop and Illustrator.
I always tell people that Adobe Illustrator (and some other programs) are a lot like Zelda. The New Art Has Basic Appearance feature is a very Zelda type feature.
What I mean by that is that inZelda, you have to find all the secret spots by knocking on the walls =D Check out the video above to see what I mean.
New Art Has Basic Appearance
Have you ever tried to lay down paths with a bush applied to the appearance so that it works more naturally? If you have and you’re not familiar with this feature, you’ll find that the brush appearance will not stay persistent and this can be annoying to some users. This feature is checked by default. All you have to do is uncheck that box and you can continue to lay down paths with the desired appearance.
