N.S.L: WEEK 159 – Adobe Illustrator CC 2014: “Reshape Segments”

Still running through some of these new features in Adobe Illustrator CC 2014!

Creative Cloud Adobe Illustrator
Reshape Segments- New feature in Adobe Illustrator CC

In the latest version of Illustrator we can bend or reshape our segments with the updated Anchor Point tool. In previous versions, this tool was called the Convert Anchor Point Tool.

In this video, I’ll show you how things worked back in CS6. Then we switch over to the current version and show different approaches to the Anchor Point Tool.

What I like about this update is that you naturally want to reshape your segment when you’re working with the Pen Tool. Since you can activate the Anchor Point Tool while in the Pen Tool by hitting Alt/Option, it is a cleaner workflow than we had in the past.

For those of you not in the Creative Cloud (even if you are), you can check out InkScribe by Astute Graphics. It’s available for CS5, and above, users. I always describe it as the Pen Tool on steroids =D
