N.S.L: WEEK 156 – Adobe Photoshop CC 2014: “Select Focus Area” New Feature

New feature for Adobe Photoshop CC 2014! With the Focus Area feature in the Select menu you can select elements from your image that are in focus while ignoring the elements that are out of focus.

It’s a great way to start off a selection especially when you’re getting some cool shots that play with depth of field.

The short video above will give you an overview of all the controls.

The panel is pretty straight forward. The way I approach it is just drag the sliders to the extremes to see what they do. Once you have a good idea how they work, you will be able to make more precise edits. This was my first time trying out this tool. I’ll get more comfortable with it after some practice then I’ll probably record an update =)
