Man! as a kid, I used to watch Grimlins ALL the time.
I would watch it every day and sometimes, several times, in a day. For some reason I had this little dude in my head. It was a trip thinking about those times while throwing around these anchorpoints.
I left the rounded off corners because I didn’t go into too much detail. I wanted him to stay “cute” and more cartoonish. It felt like this was a good stopping point. If I would go further, it would be a whole new mission. I’d like to think that I will revisit this illustration again someday and continue with the next phases. For now, he looks cool =D
I’m proud to say that I continue to learn with each week I complete a project. I had zero instincts for what to draw. I bring this up because I posted the image 5 min ago and I already see various areas that I want to tinker with. The mouth could use some shadowing. I’m fighting to just leave it alone. I just have to learn from it and do better on the next project!
I used the Dynamic Sketch Tool by Astute Graphics
and my IntuosPro by Wacom:
